Day 1 – Arrival in Jericoacoara
Getting to Jericoacoara (a.k.a Jeri) is all part of the experience. Hidden away on Brazil’s north coast, this remote beach village can only be reached via sandy tracks and 4×4 vehicles, adding to its untouched charm. Most travellers arrive via Fortaleza, followed by a scenic drive through coastal landscapes and rolling dunes. You can also reach Jeri from nearby destinations such as Barreirinhas or Parnaíba. As the busy roads disappear and the sand takes over, you’ll understand why this hidden corner of Brazil is worth the journey.
You’ll stay in a charming hotel with a swimming pool. Step outside and you’re within easy reach of Jeri’s cafés, bars and restaurants, while the beach is just a short stroll away. We’ve left your first day free to relax and explore. The sunsets are magical and not to be missed. Travellers and locals gather together on the highest sand dunes to enjoy the sun disappearing into the sea.
Day 2 – Discover the dunes & lagoons by beach buggy
Today you’ll head out by beach buggy to explore the landscapes around Jericoacoara. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning for a half-day trip across the sweeping beaches, rolling dunes and crystal clear lagoons that surround the village. You’ll drive along the coast before stopping for a swim in Lagoa Azul and Lagoa do Paraíso — both known for their clear, calm water. The dunes here shift in colour from white to red, and the views out to the horizon are some of the best in the region. The pace is up to you. If you want more time in the water or want to see more of the park, just tell your guide — the route can be adjusted.

Day 3 – Free time in Jeri
There’s plenty more to do in Jericoacoara beyond the buggy ride. Try surfing or kitesurfing, explore the dunes on horseback, watch the fishing boats come in with the day’s catch, listen to live forró music in the village, or walk along the beach to the Pedra Furada rock formation. Thanks to steady winds and warm water, Jeri is also one of the best places in Brazil to learn windsurfing or kitesurfing, with lessons and equipment easy to arrange locally.
Be sure to make your way to the Duna do Pôr do Sol (Sunset Dune) before 5:00 PM. Visitors gather here every day to watch the sunset together. It’s a simple but memorable experience, and one you won’t forget in a hurry.
Day 4 – Departure from Jericoacoara
After breakfast, it’s time to leave this paradise behind. From here, you could follow the coastline east to Fortaleza, or west to the white dunes and blue lagoons of Lençóis Maranhenses. Alternatively, the nearby Jijoca de Jericoacoara airport operates a handful of domestic flights, mainly to São Paulo.
